The vehicle has a heat engine, and a vacuum pump supplied by a battery and connected to a vacuum chamber which permits to increase a braking force of a driver of the vehicle. A controller actuates the pump, when a pressure of the chamber is greater than a threshold value, for reducing the pressure of the chamber until the pressure is lower than the threshold value.
