<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color liquid crystal display device of a backlight system wherein the degree of freedom of color formation is enhanced by perfectly covering the color reproducing range of the sRGB specification and further expanding each color region and an NTSC ratio is enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has, as light sources, a main white color light source 21 consisting of a three wavelength fluorescent lamp emitting light having three or more wavelengths and an auxiliary light source 22 comprising at least one of a red color light emitting diode 22R emitting red color light having peak wavelength λpr=645 nm, a green color light emitting diode 22G emitting green color light having peak wavelength λpg=555 nm and blue color light emitting diode 22B emitting blue color light having peak wavelength λpb=440 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
