PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blocked biuret group-containing polyisocyanate composition which is especially suitable as a curing agent in coating compositions. SOLUTION: This blocked biuret group-containing polyisocyanate composition having a blocked isocyanate functional value of at least 4 is obtained by a method including (A) a process for reacting a polyisocyanate addition product (a) produced from an aliphatic (alicyclic) diisocyanate, (b) having an isocyanate functional value of at least 2.5, and (c) containing isocyanurate groups, with a biuret-forming agent to incorporate the biuret groups into the polyisocyanate, and (B) a process for reacting the biuret group-containing polyisocyanate with a blocking agent selected from the group consisting of di 1 to 12C alkyl(alkoxyalkyl) malonates and 1 to 12C alkyl(alkoxyalkyl) acetoacetates.
