PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To providing an absorbent article with which an excellent fittability and a leakage resistance can be obtained because an absorber deforms to a shape protruding in a curved face against a wearer's skin when wearing. SOLUTION: This absorbent article 1 is equipped with a liquid permeable surface sheet 2, a liquid impermeable back face sheet 3, and a liquid holding absorber 4 interposed between both the sheets, and formed in a longitudinal elongate shape. The absorber 4 has a concave portion 41 in the face of the back face sheet 3 side in a center portion in its widthwise direction, and a pair of grooves 42, 42 extending in a longitudinal direction in the face of the surface sheet 2 side of a portions 4B located in both sides of the concave portion 41 is provided, where the concave portion 41 is formed such that the basic weight of the constituent material of the concave portion is reduced compared to the other portions, and the width W of the concave portion 41 is from 5 to 30 mm.
