<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of keeping preferable image quality by accurately measuring the water content of a paper sheet and using the measurement result to control transferring and fixing. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 1 is equipped with a transferring unit 30 to transfer a toner image formed on the surface of a photoreceptor drum 21 onto a paper sheet P, a fixing unit 40 to fix an unfixed toner image to the paper sheet P, and a controlling unit 60 to control the above functions. The printer is equipped with a water content sensor 50 near a paper conveying path 4 for paper feeding in a close upstream side of a resist roller 6. The control unit 60 receives information from the water content sensor 50 and controls the transferring unit 30 and/or the fixing unit 40 based on the water content of the paper sheet P passing the paper conveying path 4 for paper feeding. Thereby, the apparatus responds to influences of changes in the water content of the paper sheet P on the transferring and fixing results and can adjust the image forming operation on the paper sheet P. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
