PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separately replaceable ink cartridge for an inkjet recorder which prevents ink from leaking even in distribution or keeping for a long time period, and from scattering when opening the package, includes a low-cost simple sealing member as compared with a conventional sealing member such as a cap sealing member, and makes the ink cartridge friendly to the environment. SOLUTION: This ink cartridge is equipped with an absorption body for reserving ink and a housing body accommodating the absorption body and having an ink supply hole for supplying ink to the outside. A first capillary member opposing to the absorption body without contacting it and a second capillary member opposing to the first capillary member with a gap therebetween are arranged in the ink supply hole in a direction from the absorption body to the outside of the ink supply hole. By inserting a pressing member into the ink supply hole to press the first and second capillary members, the first capillary member is brought into contact with the second capillary member, and then the absorption body is brought into contact with the first capillary member.
