PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal measuring its own frequency and acquiring an SFN without the need for measuring a base station with another frequency different from a frequency of current communication and a base station of another communication system by utilizing a GAP, with respect to the mobile terminal using a mobile communication system employing the CDMA system and particularly carrying out handover using the compressed mode.

SOLUTION: The mobile terminal includes: a measurement object determining section 110 for determining a measurement object on the basis of a frequency of measurement at a GAP for measuring a frequency different from the frequency during communication or a frequency of measurement at a GAP of a different communication system; and a switching control section 109 for selecting an RF section and a synthesizer adaptive to the measurement object according to the determination. The mobile terminal controls carrying out of the measurement of its own frequency and acquisition of the SFN by breaking off the measurement at the GAP when the frequency of the use of the GAP is high.
