PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser pointer which can prevent a laser beam from coming in a person's sight and which is safe and is conveniently used. SOLUTION: A pointer body 1 incorporates a visible light laser 2 and the light emitting part 3 of the visible light laser 2 is provided at one end side of the pointer body 1. A laser switching operation section 4 which turns on / turns off the switch of the visible light laser 2 in accordance with inclination of the pointer body 1 in a vertical direction is provided to the pointer body 1. When the light emitting part 3 of the visible light laser 2 takes a tilt attitude of being more upward than a level, the laser switching operation section 4 turns on the visible light laser 2. When the light emitting part 3 of the visible light laser 2 takes a tilt posture of being horizontal and of being more downward than the level, the laser switching operation section 4 turns off the visible light laser 2.
