PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalytic combustion type gas sensor capable of selectively detecting carbon monoxide, and a combustible gas measuring instrument using it. SOLUTION: The catalytic combustion type gas sensor is constituted by bonding cobalt oxide, which has a composition of CoO<SB>x</SB>(wherein x is a real number of 1.000-1.334), on a carrier comprising an inorganic compound inert to carbon monoxide and hydrogen. If copper oxide is allowed to get mixed in the composition, high linearity is determined between the concentration of carbon monoxide and the output of the sensor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
