PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver in which a favorite program of a user can be readily selected among a large number of channels, even when there is changeover of programming. SOLUTION: The broadcast receiver comprises a broadcast-receiving means 11, a genre registration means 13 of storing a plurality of favorite genre of a user for each weekday and each time band, while prioritizing by the registration operation from the user, a means 12 of comparing a registered favorite genre with the genre of a program being broadcast in the current time band, and a means 15 of storing a channel broadcasting a suitable program, as a result of comparison by the comparison means 12, as a favorite channel corresponding to above-mentioned priority.
