PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a discharge cell so as to generate discharge in the discharge cell regardless of presence/absence of trouble where a transparent electrode layer is cut in a process for forming a display electrode to restrain a defect of a discharge cell unit. SOLUTION: This plasma display panel is provided with: a first substrate 2 including address electrodes 12; a second substrate 4 including display electrodes 22 comprising a stacked structure of a transparent electrode layer 28 and a bus electrode layer 30 formed in a direction perpendicular to the address electrodes, and disposed oppositely to the first substrate; and barrier ribs 6 arranged in a space between the first substrate and the second substrate for partitioning discharge cells 8R, 8G and 8B. The transparent electrode layer and the bus electrode layer include: line parts 28a and 30a formed so that a pair of them correspond to an outer shell part of each discharge cell; and projection parts 28b and 30b where the transparent electrode layer and the bus electrode layer are extended at different lengths from the line parts toward the inside of each discharge cell and each pair thereof are faced to each other.
