PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable-speed transmission chain which suppresses contact noise caused between components due to the backlash of the components constituting the chain so as to reduce the transmission noise. SOLUTION: The variable-speed transmission chain 100 is extended between a driving pulley D including a pair of inwardly-opposed conical sheaves D1 and a follower pulley R including a pair of inwardly-opposed conical sheaves R1. In the variable-speed transmission chain 100, a number of link units 120 each including a frame-like block member 110 mounted thereon are connected to each other by connecting pins 130. The frame-like block member 110 moves in the radial direction of the conical sheaves D1, R1 so as to change the speed of the chain. The frame-like block member 110 is formed with frame-like contact elements 111 which make contact with the conical sheaves D1, R1 and a vibration-damping buffer element 112 interposed between the frame-like contact element 111 and the connecting pin 130 or between the frame-like contact elements 111, 111.
