USE OF METABOLITES OF ARACHIDONIC ACID OR THE DERIVATIVE THEREOF

The present invention relates to a use of metabolites of arachidonic acid or derivatives thereof, more particularly to a process for inducing an itch in an animal, a process for screening an anti-itching substance and a process for evaluating the anti-itching effect of an anti-itching substance, by regulating the administration of 12(s)-HPETE or 15(s)-HPETE, which are the metabolites of arachidonic acid, or derivatives thereof. The metabolites of arachidonic acid or derivatives thereof according to the present invention are useful in understanding an itch, for screening the therapeutic candidates for itch, and for evaluating and developing such agent.
