PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a storage region of a comparatively large capacity while maintaining security and to easily transplant subscriber related information in the case of a machine type change or the like. SOLUTION: This portable hard disk device with an SIM function houses, within the same case, a nonvolatile semiconductor memory (EEPROM 303) storing information for conducting the SIM function including a subscriber authentication function of a mobile phone system, a hard disk device 312 for storing at least subscriber related information and a control means (CPU 305) and comprises a connection means that is attachable to and detachable from the mobile communication terminal. The control means performs access to the nonvolatile semiconductor memory and access to the hard disk device while switching the access in response to an instruction from the mobile communication terminal. Furthermore, only when PIN verification is finished normally by the subscriber authentication function, the control means permits the user to access the nonvolatile semiconductor memory and the hard disk device.
