PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor in which the clearance is invariant in the thrust direction of the rotary shaft of a rotor secured with the hub of a non-backlash type electromagnetic brake. SOLUTION: The motor incorporating an electromagnetic brake comprises an armature 12 movable in the axial direction through attraction of an electromagnetic coil 11 having a yoke 11a when energized and through repulsion of a spring 11b, a hub 13 being secured to the rotary shaft 15b of a rotor, a lining 14 arranged between the armature 12 and the hub 13 while being bonded to the hub 13, and a rotor 15 consisting of a rotor magnet 15a and the rotary shaft 15b of a rotor. A hole 11c penetrating from the outer circumference of the yoke 11a to a spring fixing portion is provided for a spring 11b arranged on the surface of the yoke 11a opposing the armature 12, a stopper 21 having a wedge-like distal end for stopping the biasing force of the spring from the outer shell of a motor through the hole 11c is fixed, and the stopper 21 is removed after completing a motor assembly.
