PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately detect an abnormality when a sample is sucked. SOLUTION: A suction failure of serum 110a, a short of the quantity of the sucked serum 110a (a short sample) and jamming of the serum 110a are discriminated on the basis of live outputs from comparators provided in first-fourth suction abnormality determining sections 132-135 and a bit pattern corresponding to latch outputs. A complex calculation process such as a differential operation of a pressure signal is eliminated by informing an operator of a discrimination result.
