PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner improving energy saving performance and providing comfortable air conditioning to a user by performing the operation in accordance with an air conditioning load in a room even after the termination of a cut-off timer. SOLUTION: The air conditioner comprises a means 2 for detecting a temperature around a human body, an outside air temperature detecting means 3, a suction temperature detecting means 4 for detecting a suction temperature of the air conditioner, a temperature setting means 5 for setting a target room temperature, a cut-off timer means 1 for stopping the operation of the air conditioner in reaching a timer set value, a ventilating means 6 for discharging indoor air out of the room and introducing the outdoor air into the room, and a dirty degree detecting means for determining the dirty degree of the outdoor air. The cooling operation, the ventilating operation, or the continuation of stop of the air conditioner is performed on the basis of the temperature around the human body, the situation of the outdoor temperature, and the dirty degree of the outdoor air after the operation of the cut-off timer. Thus, the cooling operation is additionally performed to allow the user to comfortably sleep when the air conditioning load is high, and the wasteful consumption of energy can be prevented by introducing the outdoor air when the air conditioning load is low.
