Source image information of a moving image to be displayed is stored in the memory of a moving image data retaining unit (1). This source image information is sent, by every portion corresponding to a sheet of an image, to an image quality adjusting amount computing unit (2). The image quality adjusting amount computing unit (2), on receiving a signal from an external light measuring unit (3), corrects the luminance of image data. The luminance-corrected image data is sent to a moving image data reproducing unit (4) for conversion into image data, and is displayed on the image display (5) of the display unit. Accordingly, even if the quantity of light not displaying an image but shining into eyes changes, the image can be accurately recognized visually.
