One content to be processed is retrieved by a simple method, when contents recorded in a CD are stored in an HDD or the like so that the desired one of the contents stored in the HDD may be read out and processed for reproductions or the like. A processing device comprises a storage unit (1) for storing at least one content in a manner to correspond to jacket image information or an image relating to each of the contents, means for acquiring object medium image data by photographing the jacket of a CD relating to the contents to be reproduced, means for acquiring the contents corresponding to the object medium image data from the storage unit (1) by collating the object medium image data and the jacket image information stored in the storage unit (1), and means for reproducing the contents acquired.
