<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for drying wood which enable to shorten a wood drying time, to make wood drying uniform, and to improve energy efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A wood dryer having a heat recovery system and the optimum wood drying method are provided In the heat recovery system, water vapor, air, or a mixture of water vapor and air is passed through an electromagnetic induction heating apparatus corresponding to a drying process specific to wood to be converted into a heating medium, the heating medium is supplied to a drying chamber under approximately atmospheric pressure, recovers part of the heating medium, and the recovered medium is passed again through the induction heating apparatus. By the wood drying apparatus, wood is dried uniformly in a short time in a drying chamber (4) using the heating medium through a step for increasing the temperature of wood by water vapor supplied by a steam boiler (1), heat supply in a constantly drying step, a constantly drying step by air supplied by an air blower (2), and heating by the electromagnetic induction heating apparatus (3) in a temperature state corresponding to a falling-drying-rate step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
