PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a porous membrane of fluororesin to keep suitable high air permeability when used as an air filter, even the porous membrane is stuck to one or more support sheets. SOLUTION: The air permeable support sheets are needle-punched to dispersingly form a lot of small protrusions all over the sheets, the protruded surfaces of the sheets are singed, so that mainly the small protrusions are melted and made amorphous, then the porous membrane of fluororesin is superposed on the support sheets, and the porous membrane is subjected to thermocompression bonding with the support sheets all over the face by heating and pressurizing.
