[Also in Division F2] Plastics material and a filler material are applied continuously to the interior of a rotating mould, at least one constituent of the filler material being applied in varying quantities as the thickness builds up within the mould, to produce a pipe (see Division F2) in which the proportion of the constituent varies across the wall. In one example the plastics material is a polyester, a first filler is of granular form, for example sand, quartz sand, slag grains, brick powder or expanded fired clay and a second filler is fibrous, for example glass fibres. The filler is fed into the mould by a pipe moved axially back and forward in the mould, the speed of movement of the stroke or the time rate of application being varied.</p> |
