PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored optical fiber that suppresses generation of blisters when immersed in water particularly in warm water for a long period and that has no increase in optical transmission loss. SOLUTION: The colored optical fiber 10 has a plurality of covering layers 12, 13 formed on a bare optical fiber 11, and a pigmented layer 14 formed on the outermost layer, wherein the pigmented layer 14 is formed of resin having an elution rate of≤3% in water.
