<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the electronic camera and the program for image processing that are capable of ensuring remaining amount of various memory storage areas when performing a compression to generate images with uniform quality. <P>SOLUTION: The camera comprises imaging means for imaging an object and generating an image data, compression means for compressing the image data generated by the imaging means by either a first compression algorithm whose scale factor is fixed or a second compression algorithm whose scale factor is adjustable, judgment means for judging whether or not code-amount of the image data compressed by the compression means is within a specified range, and selection means for selecting either a first compression mode for generating the image with uniform quality or a second compression mode for generating an image data with substantially constant code-amount based on a user operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
