FIELD: chemical technology of rare elements. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves addition of metallic iron in sulfate solution in the presence of titanium (III) salts and the concentration of titanium in solution is maintained as 0.5-2 g/dm3 at pH > 0.7 and the process temperature 80°C, not above. In particular case, pH value of solution is maintained in the range 1.0-1.7 and the process temperature is 60-70°C. Method provides effective precipitation of selenium in its elemental form from weakly acid solutions with the high content of selenium.
