PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infinitesimal spectroscopic system in order not only to respond to needs of the conversion of measurement to a micro-amount system and a cuvette system but also to solve the point at issue accompanied by the conversion of measurement to the micro-amount system, and also provide a spectroscopic method. SOLUTION: Liquid droplets are formed on a hydrophobic substrate and a hydrophilic line for guiding the movement of the liquid droplets is provided to successively feed the liquid droplets on the line. A detection system is constituted so as to cross the hydrophilic line and, when the liquid droplets traverse the detection system, absorbancy or the intensity of fluorescence is measured. The liquid droplets on the hydrophilic line are irradiated with white light or exciting light to spectrally diffract the transmitted light or to detect fluorescence. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
