<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply processing needed for next decoding processing by a method wherein coded image data having hierarchy coded data structure for gradual decoding to high resolution from low resolution is reconstructed according to indicator resolution or display size of a decoding instrument. <P>SOLUTION: When encoded image data encoded by JPEG 2000 system in a decomposition level=4 (original picture size is 1,024×1,024 pixel size) is displayed by resolution of 256×256 pixel size in default, in order to make optimizing, resolution level 0-2 is decoded, and a picture of resolution (picture size) of 256×256 is obtained. Image data of resolution of 256×256 are made LL component which is the minimum resolution of JPEG 2000, and reconstruction is performed with coded data of resolution level=0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
