<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inspecting a communication system which improves the inspection accuracy of the communication system including transmitting/receiving means, a communication state inspection device, and a checking shield implement. <P>SOLUTION: The method of inspecting the communication system includes the steps of connecting a fault inspection device to an ECU (S11), changing a vehicle mode into a communication system inspection mode (S12), and equipping with a metal shield implement to a rearview mirror carrying a receiver of non-inspection object (S13). The method includes the steps of transmitting a checking signal (S14), and judging the existence of the faults of the communication state between receiving systems to be examined (S15). At this time, since, as for receiving system of the non-inspection object, the propagation of the checking signal is restricted by the shield implement, the fault judging can be performed with sufficient precision.
