<p>1,117,659. Coin-freed apparatus. KIENZLE APPARATE G.m.b.H. 20 June, 1966 [25 June, 1965], No. 27448/66. Heading G4V. A coin-freed liquid dispenser such as a petrol pump includes a coin sensing device responsive to an inserted coin for stepping a printing roller an amount corresponding to the value of an inserted coin and printing a receipt for the total value of coins inserted. The dispenser is adapted to receive coins of different denominations. Each coin is received in a respective slot in a rotary carrier and transported past a pivoted lever moving a slide 19 a distance protional to the size of the coin. The slide carries a pawl 44 co-operating with a ratchet wheel 35 fast with the printing roller whereby the printing roller is indexed a corresponding amount on return movement of the slide. Reverse movement of the printing roller is prevented by a second pawl 53 co-operating with a ratchet wheel 52 on the printing roller. When the dispenser nozzle is removed from its rest, it releases a pivoted lever 46. The latter is moved counter-clockwise by a compression spring 48. The pawls 44 and 53 are disengaged from their ratchet wheels by a projection 46<SP>1</SP> on the lever 46 and co-operating lugs 45 and 53<SP>1</SP> on the pawls and the printing roller zeroized by a return spring 49. In a modification, the rotary carrier moves the coins over banks of switches to pulse a solenoid controlling movement of the slide, Figs. 7-9 (not shown). Likewise, removal of the dispenser nozzle from its rest, closes a switch to operate a second solenoid controlling the pivoted lever 46. Rotation of a knob 25 lowers a platen 71, whereby a paper strip 29 is imprinted with fixed information from a plate 60 and variable information from roller 34. In addition, the strip is fed from the casing and a knife 73 reciprocated to sever the receipt from the strip.</p> |
