The disclosure is substantially identical with that of the Specification 1,254,535 but the claims relate to a latch installation tool for forming an opening in the outer edge of a door. The tool comprises a frame 18, Fig. 4, guide means, e.g. buttons 58, for enabling the frame to be initially aligned with a predetermined longitudinally extending line of reference on the outer edge of the door, means for clamping the frame to the door faces, a cutter assembly 29, Fig. 4, including a rotary bit 147, means for supporting the rotary bit on the frame for longitudinal and lateral movement relative to the outer edge of the door, and means for releasably retaining the supporting means on the frame and for positioning the bit so that its axis is normal to the plane of the outer edge of the door. |
