SPHERICAL ELASTIC SURFACE WAVE ELEMENT, DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MEASURING ROTATION ANGLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a small-sized gyro utilizing an elastic surface wave while preventing energy leakage as in a flat-type gyro.

SOLUTION: The small-sized gyro utilizing an elastic surface wave can be achieved since it dispenses with being equipped with a reflector differently from a conventional flat-type elastic surface wave gyro because of its structure wherein an elastic surface wave is excited on a surface of a spherical member 11 to detect the surface wave whose propagation direction is changed according to the rotary motion of the spherical member 11. Further, energy leakage as in a flat-type gyro can be prevented since the gyro is achieved by using a spherical elastic surface wave element.
