PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal aligning agent having preservation stability and coating property and giving a liquid crystal aligning film excellent in liquid crystal aligning property. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal aligning agent contains an imidated polymer having a repeating unit represented by formula (A) in an amount of 30-50 mol% of all the repeating units and at least one repeating unit selected from the group consisting of repeating units represented by formulae (B) and (C) in an amount of 30-50 mol% of all the repeating units.
