A black top material is provided to enhance light room contrast of a plasma display panel and prevent a decline in brightness by forming a thin black top, and to reduce spending of the material in a black top formation process of a plasma display panel. A black top material(100) includes a solvent(110), an inorganic powder(120), and an additive(130). The inorganic powder has a weight ratio of 5% or less. The inorganic powder comprises a glass frit and a black pigment. The black pigment contains a material selected from the group comprising Cr2O3, CuO, Fe2O3, Co2O3, and MnO. A method for manufacturing a plasma display panel includes the steps of: forming barriers on a second panel; and spraying the black top material onto the barriers to form a black top. Further, a size of the black pigment is 1 micrometer or less. |
