HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY AND METHOD FOR DRIVING THE HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY

A high voltage power supply and a method for driving the same are provided to control a sudden overshoot phenomenon of an outer terminal due to delay in converting a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) signal into a high state when power is applied. A high voltage power supply includes a controller(10), an input unit(20), a comparing unit(30), a transforming unit(40), a rectifying unit(50), and a power input delay unit(100). The controller supplies a PWM signal and power. The input unit receives the PWM signal from the controller and converts the PWM signal into a DC level by using an RC low pass filter. The comparing unit compares the signal outputted from the input unit with a reference signal and controls output of the power supplied from the controller according to the comparison result. The transforming unit transforms the power outputted from the comparing unit into high voltage. The rectifying unit finally outputs DC voltage by rectifying a secondary side voltage of the transforming unit. The power input delay unit delays input of the power into the comparing unit by a predetermined time when the power supplied from the controller is inputted into the comparing unit.
