The converter has output elements (S1, S2) mounted on external elements, and input elements (E1, E2) mounted on the output elements. The input elements exert thrust required for the output elements for translating the output elements by exerting thrust or traction on the external elements. Characteristics of the translation of the output elements are deduced from those of the translation of the input elements such that reversible/irreversible translation conversion is realized. The input and output elements are inversely translated due to antagonistic force applied by the external elements.
