A METHOD OF CONVERTING SMS MO MESSAGE TO EMOTICON SMS OR MMS MESSAGE

A method for converting an SMS MO(Short Message Service Mobile Oriented) message into an emoticon SMS or MMS(Multimedia Message Service) message is provided to deliver more interesting and affluent messages by converting an SMS MO message into a suitable emoticon SMS or MMS message in accordance with the characteristics of a receiving terminal and an SMS MO message sender's intention. If a sending terminal transmits an SMS MO message to be delivered to a receiving terminal, an SMS conversion server receives the SMS MO message(200). The SMS conversion server deduces a keyword list corresponding to the received SMS MO message(300). The SMS conversion server selects a keyword among the keyword list according to the order of priority(400). The SMS conversion server selects contents associated with the selected keyword(500). Using the selected contents, the SMS conversion server converts the SMS MO message into an emoticon SMS or MMS message in accordance with the characteristics of the receiving terminal and the SMS MO message sender's intention(600). The SMS conversion server transmits the converted emoticon SMS or MMS message to the receiving terminal(700).
