METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SINUSOIDAL AUDIO CODING

A method and an apparatus for sinusoidal audio coding are provided to reduce the number of bits of data after coding by designating a continuation mode or other track mode for sinusoids continuing from a track component. A method for sinusoidal audio coding comprises the steps of: extracting sinusoids of a current frame by executing sinusoidal analysis of an input audio signal(S100); designating one mode selected from a birth mode newly generated regardless of sinusoids of a predetermined frame, a continuation mode uniquely continuing from the sinusoids of the predetermined frame, and an other track mode indicated as one of plural sinusoids continuing from one of the sinusoids of the predetermine frame; and coding the extracted sinusoids according to the designated mode.
