An electric field driving type device and an electronic device are provided to reduce the number of end portions of slits for disturbing an electric field by extending slits continuously over a plurality of sub-pixels, thereby improving the display quality of the electric field driving type device. In an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) as an electric field driving type device, a pixel region has two or more rectangular-shaped sub-pixels corresponding to different colors. The LCD comprises a pair of substrates facing each other, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the substrates, a plurality of pixel electrodes formed on a plane facing the liquid crystal layer for respective sub-pixels, and a common electrode(26) deposited above the pixel electrodes with an insulating layer therebetween. The common electrode has a plurality of slits(27) parallel with a side of the sub-pixel. Each of the slits has the approximately same size as the width of plural sub-pixels. Each of sub-pixels corresponding to the same color includes the same number of end portions of the slits. |
