A cyclohexenone compound is provided to suppress the growth of cancer cells such as breast cancer, liver cancer, and prostatic cancer, and to ensure antioxidant activities. A cyclohexenone compound has a structure represented by the following formula 1, wherein X and Y are oxygen or sulfur, each of R1, R2, and R3 is a hydrogen atom, methyl, or (CH2)m-CH3, m is a number between 1 and 12, and n is a number between 1 and 12. The compound is isolated from an organic solvent extract of Antrodia camphorata. The organic solvent is selected from the group comprising alcohols, esters, alkanes, and alkyl halides.
