PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional magnetic memory comprised of a stack of data storage layers. SOLUTION: The three-dimensional magnetic memory 100 includes a plurality of stacked data storage layers 112, 122 and 132. Bits are written to the data storage layer in the form of magnetic domains. Then, the bits are transferred between the stacked data storage layers by heating a neighboring data storage layer, which allows the magnetic fields from the magnetic domains to imprint the magnetic domains in the neighboring data storage layer.
