PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring plant biological signals by which biological signals broadly and adequately reflecting various kinds of external stimulations are obtained: to provide electrodes for measuring plant biological signals suited to the measuring method: to provide a method for detecting external stimulation comprising using the biological signals measured by the measuring method, and to provide an apparatus for detecting external stimulation. SOLUTION: In the method for measuring plant biological signals, when measuring the biological signals of a plant P1, one electrode 1 is placed at either of the end parts e1-e4 of the plant P1, or either of vicinity e5 or e6 of the borders L1, L2 of an environmental layer, and the other electrode 2 is placed at the other end part except for the end part where the electrode 1 is placed, or in the vicinity of the border other than the vicinity of the border where the electrode 1 is placed; and when the plant has a flower, the electrodes 1, 2 are placed at the flower. The electrode for measuring biological signals has a pin holder-type electrode, and the plant is stuck in the pin holder-type electrode when measuring the signals.
