<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of electronic equipment at a standby state of waiting for a signal from a remote controller. <P>SOLUTION: A photodiode 22 receives the signal from the remote controller 10 to generate current based on the signal. A micro controller control chip 23 recognizes a header part of the signal by a decoding circuit based on the current generated by the photodiode 22 to output a starting signal for starting a micro controller 24 whose power is interrupted.
