PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight and flexible high-strength rope excellent in handling performance and excellent in abrasion resistance. SOLUTION: The rope is constituted of wholly aromatic polyamide fibers, particularly copoly-p-phenylene 3,4'-oxydiphenylene-terephthalamide fibers in which 1.5-14 mg/m<SP>2</SP>of inorganic fine powder having an average particle diameter of about≤20μm is added to the fiber surface.
