PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide double glazing which suppresses deforming strain of a primary sealing material caused by expansion or contraction of a hollow layer, and prevents water vapor permeation resistance characteristics from deteriorating. SOLUTION: This double glazing 1 has a structure, wherein two opposing glass plates 2, 2 are disposed at intervals through a spacer 3, each side face of the spacer is bonded to the two glass plates with the primary sealing material 6, respectively, so that a hollow layer 8 is formed, a hollow part demarcated by the spacer and peripheral parts of the two glass plates is hermetically sealed with a secondary sealing material 7. The spacer has side wall parts 11 facing to the two glass surfaces, respectively, an inner wall part 13 adjoining the hollow layer, and a rear wall part 12 opposing to the inner wall part, the inner wall part and the rear wall part are connected to the side wall part. In the region where the side wall part faces to the glass surface, at least in an interface where the primary sealing material is in contact with the secondary sealing material, the primary sealing material intervenes so that the interval between the side wall part and the glass surface becomes 0.8-1.0 mm, thereby the spacer and the two glass plates are bonded respectively.
