PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile handrail cleaning device for a passenger conveyor capable of preventing a piece of belt-like cleaning cloth from being twisted to prevent occurrence of improper winding operation of the piece of belt-like cleaning cloth. SOLUTION: This mobile handrail cleaning device for the passenger conveyor is provided with at least a piece of belt-like cleaning cloth 7, a cleaning liquid storage tank part for storing the cleaning liquid to be impregnated in the piece of belt-like cleaning cloth 7, a cleaning body pressing means moving vertically to press the piece of belt-like cleaning cloth 7 impregnated with the cleaning liquid in the cleaning liquid storage tank part against a mobile handrail 4 of the passenger conveyor, and a winding shaft for winding a part of the piece of belt-like cleaning cloth 7 pressed against the mobile handrail 4 of the passenger conveyor by the cleaning body pressing means around the winding shaft. The operation for moving a pressing base 10A of the cleaning body pressing means vertically to loosen the piece of belt-like cleaning cloth 7 and then wind the piece of belt-like cleaning cloth 7 around the winding shaft is performed several times to clean the mobile handrail.
