The device has a brake control device (1) for controlling brake actuators (2.1-2.4), where one of the brake actuators is connected with the brake control device and moves a friction lining. A brake input device (3) is connected with the brake control device and with the brake actuators so that inputs at the brake input device are directly passed to the brake control device and to the brake actuators. The brake input device is formed by an electromechanical device. An independent claim is also included for a method for moving a friction lining of an electromechanical brake.
