<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize picture quality before and after a recording pause. <P>SOLUTION: An electric power is turned on in a state wherein a recording mode is specified with a mode dial, or a switch 20 supplies a fixed value of an encoding initial parameter stored in a holding unit 18 to an encoding unit 12, for a starting clip after the power source is turned on. For second and succeeding clips, an encoding initialization parameter arithmetic unit 14 stores an arithmetic result in an encoding parameter holding unit 16 for a last clip when the difference between camera status information at the point of time of the end of recording of the last recorded clip and current camera status information is small, and the switch 20 sets the encoding parameter of the holding unit 16 to the encoding unit 12, as an encoding initial parameter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
