PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum valve capable of improving welding resistance characteristics between contacts. SOLUTION: The vacuum valve 1 includes a fixed side contact 10a and a movable side contact 10b capable of relatively coming in and out of contact with each other, and a vacuum vessel 3 for keeping the fixed side contact 10a and the movable side contact 10b in a vacuum state. A rush current is applied while arc is generated between the fixed side contact 10a and the movable side contact 10b to improve welding resistance between the fixed side contact 10a and the movable side contact 10b.
