PURPOSE:To enable the variation of heating value by changing the draft in a burning chamber in accordance with the changing of draft in the secondary burning chamber by a method wherein a pipe communicated to the open air is arranged in the secondary burning chamber at the upper part of the primary burning chamber in a petroleum stove and the like, also a valve for opening/closing the pipe and an elevating device are provided, while the elevating device and a driving shaft of a wick up/down moving device are connected in a wick guide cylinder. CONSTITUTION:By adjusting a burning device at the rated heating value 10 is also raised and a pipe 12 is closed. By igniting the wick 1 at this time, a high temperature gas passed through the primary burning chamber 16 also through a main and an auxiliary exhaust gas passages 20a, 20b, then a draft is generated, accordingly, a required air is flowed in through each air hole and the like on an inner flame cylinder 11 and an outer flame cylinder 15. At the demand for less heating value, the wick 1 and the valve 10 are moved down by the wick up/down moving device 6, the pipe 12 is opened. At this time, an air flow 25 is flowed into the secondary burning chamber 23 through a pipe 12, weakens the draft acted on the primary burning chamber 16, decreases the air volume flowed into the vicinity of the wick 1 through an air hole 11a, thus, the heating value is decreased.
