PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing device capable of detecting whether or not a lens cap is attached with simple structure. SOLUTION: The photographing device (10) is equipped with: an attaching part (12a) to which a cap (16) protecting a photographic lens is attachably/detachably attached; a first light receiving part (18) receiving transmitted light which is transmitted through the photographic lens and outputting luminance information; a decision part(26a) deciding whether or not the cap is attached to the attaching part based on only information on the brightness of light including the luminance information output by the first light receiving part; and a control part (26) performing predetermined operation control according to output from the decision part.
